Winter Weather Isn’t Over Yet!
READY YOUR HOME FOR FREEZING TEMPS!
It’s important that you take the proper precautions NOW to protect your home from frozen pipes!
The Forecast is calling for Extreme Low Temperatures as well as Strong Winds for 12-16 days with forecasted lows as low as 10 degrees.
Frozen and bursting pipes can result in extensive damage which can be avoided by just taking a few preventative measures.
- Leave your heat on and set to a temperature no lower than 60° F.
- Keep garage doors closed.
- Open bathroom and kitchen cabinet doors to allow warmer air to circulate around the plumbing.
- Seal air leaks near pipes.
- Insulate pipes in attics, crawl spaces and pipes close to outside walls.
- Remove, drain and store outdoor hoses.
Please note: Maintaining proper heat is a requirement of your policy. Failure to do so may jeopardize coverage in the event of a loss. If you have any questions about coverage, please contact your agent to discuss.
